Stork Charm Collection I created the stork charm bracelet for my obstetrical practice, Candlewood Center for Women's Health. The group gives each of our new moms a bracelet as a gift at her six week post partum visit. The charm depicts a stork bringing the baby. On the back of the charm I inscribe the baby's first name and birth date (you will find a text box in your shopping cart to fill in this information). Each of our new moms treasures this personal and meaningful gift. The ¾"sterling silver charm is suspended from a 7" sterling bracelet (8" bracelet available upon request.) The sterling charm for the key chain is 7/8" and hangs from a nickle plated steel key chain.

Precious Memories Collection I love photographs! Gazing at photos of family, friends, pets, and favorite places brings back all those loving feelings and cherished memories. A wonderful way to keep these memories close is to wear your favorite photos as jewelry! This is also a fabulous way to show off photos of your children or grandchildren. One of the first Precious Memories bracelets I created was for my sister which contained photos of her kids. She tells me it makes her feel closer to her children while she's away from them at work. Tiny bells dangle from the earrings and necklace, and as bells of mindfulness, they bring your attention back to the blessings in your life that the photos portray. Please e-mail ( jpeg format) or snail mail your photos to me (no originals please--too much responsibility!). I will resize the photos to fit the jewelry frames and I will touch them up to make them "artistically pleasing". The frames for the large oval bracelet and key chain are ≈ 1 3/8" in height. The rectangular frames are ≈ 1" high, the small square frames are ≈5/8", and the single oval bracelet frame is ≈ 1 1/8"high. |

Healing Heart Collection I created the Healing Heart necklace for my friend Nancy when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. At that time, I'd been reading Dr. Emoto's book The Hidden Messages in Water. He exposed water to written words of kindness and found that when he froze the water, beautiful crystals formed. When exposed to unkind words, misshapen crystals formed. The most beautiful crystals formed in response to the words "Love" and "Gratitude." Our bodies are 70% water. As a physician, I was struck by the potential healing effect such powerful words could have on the water in our bodies. The 5/8"sterling silver pendant is molded from a naturally occurring heart-shaped shell and is suspended from an 18" sterling chain. Inscribed on the back is the word "Love." When it is worn near the physical and emotional heart, the healing message is carried by the waters of your body to every cell of your being. The pocket charm measures ¾" x 5/8". Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. ...more of the story... |

Petals of Love from my Heart This design came into being after an "unpleasant encounter" with a neighbor. It was a silly, small incident, but being the overly sensitive soul that I am, I was hurt and upset. And of course, my daily walk took me past this neighbor's house not once, but twice. The only way I could get past his house in any sort of decent frame of mind was to visualize spreading flower petals in front of me like a flower girl at a wedding. These were "petals of love from my heart." As I walked past his house twice a day for two days, I repeated this mantra over and over as I visualized spreading flower petals. Miraculously, the next day during my walk, he pulled up alongside me in his car and said, "I want to apologize for what I said the other day." I've spread "petals of love" over subsequent difficult interactions with equally amazing results. When I told my life coach Wendy about my experiences, she exclaimed, "This is the secret to world peace!" I hadn't had such vision, but her comment got me thinking that maybe "Petals of Love from my Heart" could be my contribution to the global community to help achieve world peace. I decided to donate ten percent of the proceeds to Heifer International. I chose Heifer as the recipient because I believe their work is crucial to our realizing world peace. Their goal is to eradicate poverty and hunger, but the additional wonderful fallout of Heifer's work empowers women, educates children, and heals the earth. ...a poem... |

Impressions of Africa These pieces were inspired by the drawings of a woman I admire tremendously, my South African friend Jeanne. She is living a life right out of a romantic adventure novel. When I met Jeanne she was twenty-seven, and had already traveled the world. Through her life experiences she'd gained a level of maturity and depth of character well beyond her years. She met my husband’s friend, Chris, in a sailing chat room on the internet. Six months later, Jeanne flew nearly half-way around the world to join Chris aboard the sailboat that was his home in Florida. One day, the couple sailed to an offshore island and Chris "popped the question" after Jeanne discovered the engagement ring he’d buried in the sand. This year the intrepid couple is traveling around the United States in a camper to see this magnificent country. I so admire Jeanne because she lives each day fully by following the philosophy–follow your heart, live your dreams! Ten percent of the proceeds from the "Impressions of Africa" collection will go to the National Wildlife Federation whose mission is "to inspire Americans to protect wildlife for our children’s future." NWF not only works to preserve the American wilderness, but also strives to maintain habitat corridors through urban and suburban America through their Backyard Wildlife Habitat Program. My backyard was their 24,095th wildlife habitat certified. By October of 2006, NWF had certified over 74,000 backyards, school yards, and communities! |

Heal the Earth My heart breaks every time I see more trees mowed down to make room for yet another strip mall. Trees are quite literally the lungs of our planet. To quote Dan Brown, "Progress is Mother Earth’s ultimate malignancy." As citizens of the earth rather than just consumers, we have the power to heal the planet by voting with every dollar we spend. We can each make conscious choices to purchase from companies who’s business practices match our environmental and social philosophies. I will donate ten percent of the proceeds from "Heal the Earth" to Bioneers–Revolution from the Heart of Nature, a nonprofit organization which " heralds a dawning Age of Restoration founded in natural principles of kinship, interdependence, cooperation, reciprocity and community. Bioneers promotes practical environmental solutions and innovative social strategies for restoring the Earth and communities." The "Heal the Earth" collection is made from sterling silver with resin inlay which is hand colored and hand applied so each one is unique! |
